Transfer Mentors
We have three Transfer Mentors working for the Orientation and Transitions Office for the 2008-2009 school year. They aid new transfer students in their transition to Colorado State University.

Meet our Transfer Mentors:

Transfer Mentor Bill

Mike Dinwiddie

I am originally from Aurora, CO and am a junior here at CSU. I transferred from Metropolitan State College of Denver and came to CSU in search of a different college experience. My biggest challenge was and still is, balancing life between Denver and Fort Collins. So far, by biggest success has been getting involved and making connections with students and faculty. The things I like best about CSU and Fort Collins are the variety of restaurants, it's close to the Mountains, the scenery, and the many ways to get involved on and off of campus. My favorite CSU memories so far are participating in the CSUnity Community Service Project last semester and the Homecoming Concert this fall.

Transfer Mentor Kelsea

Kelsea Ferrato

My name is Kelsea Ferrato and I am originally from Durango, CO. I am a senior here at CSU and I am majoring in Foreign Language, Literature, and Culture with a concentration in French, and minoring in Biomedical Sciences and Political Science. I transferred to CSU after my first year from the University of California in Santa Barbara, and Fort Collins has really become home to me over the past three years. One of my biggest challenges in my transfer experience was learning an entire new system without any of the help that freshmen usually get. Aside from that and the ever-present challenge of putting yourself out there and meeting new people, CSU has given me the opportunities and the community that have really made my college experience unforgettable. I love the atmosphere here at CSU and the people I have met are amazing! Besides how can you beat being a CSU Ram cheering on your team on, on a sunny fall day in one of the most beautiful places in the nation?!

Transfer Mentor Bill

Bill Kimball

My name is Bill Kimball and I am from Wheaton, IL. I am a senior marketing major and plan on graduating in May 2009. I transferred to CSU from Wheaton College, a small school in suburban Chicago. I came to Colorado State because of their great business school and career center...BUT also for the mountains, skiing, and outdoor activities in Colorado. My biggest challenge in transferring was meeting new people. Thankfully, it was extremely easy to get connected with clubs and activities on campus, which has been my key to success. I love CSU because of the friendly, engaging people and the fun Ft. Collins community.
