The following features improve navigation for both keyboard navigation, screen readers, and text-only browsers.

Keyboard Navigation
  • We have embedded access keys on each page to allow you to jump to the most important parts of our site.
  • Each shortcut has an access key assigned.

  • In browsers that support them, access keys are keyboard shortcuts or commands that allow users to navigate a site without the use the mouse for navigation. In Internet Explorer on Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on a Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key. Then press Enter to activate the link.

Images
  • All content images used in this site include descriptive alt attributes.
Colors
  • Parents/Families has checked font and background color combinations against various forms of color blindness to verify that the structure and information are still visible.
Stylesheets
  • This site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for visual presentation. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets, our markup ensures that the content of each page is still readable and logically structured.
Tables
  • Tables are not used for our site's layout.
Scripts
  • The Parents/Families site is accessible even if scripting is not supported or blocked by browers
Links
  • Link text makes sense out of context.
